The Major Blues Style - 12





Bars 9 and 10



In this lesson I'm just giving pointers as to which notes to use when the chords change to the E part of the 12 bar sequence.

Example 1 - is a simple slur onto a G# note before hitting an E - although G# is a strong note on an E7 chord it should only be used as a passing note in this style.

Example 2 -shows bars 9 and 10 using the strong note E as the basis for licks on the E7 chord plus a phrase I might use on the following D7.

Example 3 - is the same but here I use the strong note B as my starting point.

Example 4 - shows me adding a strong note D over the E7 chord and then going to the same note as the chord changes to D7
